Each season, the market for planting and seed materials is filled with new varieties and hybrids of vegetables. According to statistics, over the past 30 years, the number of a wide variety of seeds for sowing in summer cottages and on farms has increased 10 times.

Despite the fact that the main producers of planting material in Russia are domestic companies, more and more often you can see Dutch marrow seeds on the shelves. What is the advantage of buying such planting material and why did some summer residents focus their choice on Dutch hybrids?

Characteristics and advantages of growing zucchini

Today Holland is the main supplier of planting material to the Russian market. The advantages of growing Dutch courgettes are as follows:

  • Most of the hybrids are well adapted to the climatic conditions of central Russia, the Urals and Western Siberia;
  • Dutch selection is distinguished by fast germination and high yields;
  • Zucchini are highly resistant to temperature extremes and diseases characteristic of this culture;
  • "Dutch hybrid" is in itself a definition of the purity and quality of the variety.

A wide range of planting material imported from Holland is presented on the domestic market. The main monopolies producing quality seeds are Nunhems and Seminis, followed by Rijk Zwaan and Hem Zaden. These companies provide almost 40% of farmers and summer residents of our country with high-quality planting material today.
